Our Most Anticipated Ships for 2024
Beccy Miller
More than 25 new ships are due to launch this year - below are the six we're most excited about...
Icon of the Seas
Launching in the Caribbean in January, this is Royal Caribbean International going large with the world’s biggest cruise ship. There are waterslides, pools, a park with real shrubs, a waterfall, and so many bars and places to eat you need a fortnight to try them all.
Sun Princess
Get ready to be wowed as Princess Cruises unveils Sun Princess in the Med in February with firsts including a family zone, magic, mystery and mixology in new venue Spellbound, and a meaty Butcher’s Block restaurant for guests to get their teeth into.
Queen Anne
Cunard fans rejoice. New ship Queen Anne debuts in Southampton in May with a spa that radiates health and wellness, and a feast of restaurants serving surf & turf, Japanese and Indian specialities. You can also head to the Golden Lion for pub grub by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux.
Carnival Firenze
The décor says Italian, but inside Carnival Firenze screams Carnival, with fun ship favourites such as Guy’s Burger Joint, adults-only Serenity hideaway and Punchliner Comedy Club. It is sailing the Mexican Riviera from May.
AmaMagdalena
Come November, AmaWaterways is making history with the first cruises on the Magdalena River in Columbia. The sailings, from Cartagena to Barranquilla, promise wildlife, music, culture and lots of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Avalon Alegria
Walls of glass, suites with beds angled towards the river; Avalon Waterways is making sure no one misses the fabulous views (think rolling hills, vineyards and deep gorges) as it makes its debut on the Douro River in Portugal in March.
