The Holiday Checklist

It's time to get ready for your holiday! If you have booked with us, then we have made sure all your documentation is taken care of, but here are some practical tips to help you get your holiday ready this summer...
Documents
· Check the length of time left on your passport and make sure you are not caught out with any extensions you may have been granted prior to Brexit.
· Check if a vista or ESTA is required - if you are even transiting in a country, you may need one.
· Print off or digitally save any COVID certification you may need and ensure if you need to do a lateral flow, it's done in plenty of time to get the results.
· If you can check in beforehand, do this to save time at the airport or port.
· It's worth taking a picture or printing a paper copy of your passports too - if they get lost then having a copy stashed away in your case can help.
· Get your travel insurance documents and if you're travelling in Europe, your European health cards.
Before You Go
· Set timers on devices you might want to come on for security reasons, like lights.
· Let your bank know you are travelling, so you don't get a stop on your card whilst you're away.
· Check with your phone operator to see if roaming charges will apply. Post- Brexit, whilst most are still including Europe roaming as part of inclusive minutes and data, not all are quite so generous.
· Tell a neighbour or family member you will be away and leave a key with them in case of emergencies.
· Sort out care for any furry friends.
Packing & Getting to the Airport/port
· Weigh your luggage if you are flying before getting to the airport. No one wants to start their holiday with a re-pack or be slapped with extra fees.
· Plan your route, allowing for extra time. The less stress en route, the better.
· Pre-book parking or travel. After two years of lockdown, it will be extra busy this year. Don't be caught out and discover you left it too late to book a car park; it could add another hour to your journey.
