AmaCleo is an intimate river ship designed specifically for cruising the Nile, combining a refined atmosphere with Egyptian-inspired décor and modern comforts. With just 82 guests accommodated across 41 staterooms, it offers a much more personal experience than a large ocean ship, with attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere throughout. The ship measures 236 feet in length and has five decks, giving you a choice of inviting indoor and outdoor spaces without ever feeling overwhelming.
The interiors have been thoughtfully designed to reflect the character of Egypt, while still providing the comfort and contemporary facilities you would expect from AmaWaterways. You can relax in the ship's public lounges, enjoy the views from the Sun Deck or spend time beside the swimming pool and bar. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship, while all staterooms, restaurants, lounges and interior corridors are fully air-conditioned, helping you stay comfortable in the warm Egyptian climate.
AmaCleo has a relaxed approach to life on board, giving you plenty of opportunities to unwind between your time ashore. The Sun Deck is one of the ship's main social spaces, with a swimming pool and bar where you can cool off, enjoy a drink and take in the views as the scenery passes by. There are also comfortable public areas where you can sit and socialise, read or simply enjoy the atmosphere on board.
For a little more wellness and relaxation, AmaCleo has a dedicated fitness room, two massage treatment rooms and a hair and nail salon. The intimate size of the ship means there isn't a huge list of traditional cruise entertainment, but that is very much part of its appeal: your time on board is designed around relaxing, enjoying the scenery and making the most of the ship's comfortable surroundings. An onboard Egyptologist also provides expert commentary, adding an educational element to your time on the ship and helping bring the surrounding culture and history to life.
AmaCleo offers two distinct dining experiences, giving you a choice between relaxed main dining and a more intimate speciality meal. The Main Restaurant serves a combination of Western classics and dishes inspired by Egyptian and Middle Eastern flavours, allowing you to enjoy familiar favourites alongside cuisine reflecting the character of the region. The restaurant provides an elegant setting for your meals, with menus designed to give you variety throughout your time on board.
For a more special dining experience, The Chef's Table offers a multi-course tasting menu in a more intimate setting. This gives you an alternative to the Main Restaurant and provides the opportunity to enjoy a carefully presented sequence of dishes as part of a more leisurely meal. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary requirements can be accommodated, while your dining experience is complemented by unlimited wine with lunch and dinner and a daily Sip & Sail cocktail hour.
AmaCleo has 41 staterooms, including 13 suites, with accommodation designed to make the most of the ship's intimate scale. All staterooms feature climate control, a flat-screen television, spacious bathroom, desk and chair, while many also feature French balconies. These floor-to-ceiling glass doors allow you to open up your room to the fresh air and enjoy views of the river without needing a traditional outside balcony.
For more space, AmaCleo offers three suite categories with separate sitting areas, upgraded amenities and enhanced bathrooms. The largest accommodation is the 430-square-foot Grand Suite, which features both a French balcony and an outside balcony, giving you two ways to enjoy the views. The combination of generous accommodation, river-facing views and modern comforts makes the staterooms a particularly inviting place to relax after a day ashore.
